PANOPTICON-- I know it's an Isis album, but I meant it not in the Orwellian sense but in the original sense of the word. Or at least Bentham's intended meaning as interpreted by Foucault.
CONCERTO-- Flip side of the same idea. A composition with the solo instrument accompanied by the orchestra, a way of showcasing virtuoso/artistry.
Just my way of commenting on the broad viewer-artist/reader-diarist power differential. If it doesn't make sense ignore it.
oh, and CON as in: "to reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim" (Oscar Wilde) Writing is not (always) intentionally dishonest; I do try but it's impossible to encapsulate reality through words.
